“Your trying to get warm and stay safe is that it? Well I can allow this but let me know what exactly you are running from.” The man sat down onto a chair that was not there before. The girl slowly got to her feet and looked towards the tree line surrounding the house. “I’m not running from anything or anyone, it’s just that there is something that has been fallowing me from the moment I left my carriage. I’m not sure why it’s fallowing me or what it is that is fallowing me. All that I do know is that I’m no safe any where that I go.” Angel looked towards the man as he allowed his knife to shimmer in the fires glowing flames. “I see, so you’re lost and want to hide out into my house while to get your bearings back is that what you want? Or is it that you wish to be found by this thing and confront it face to face?” The man never once looked up from the fire as he turned his blade from one side to the next. Angel looked at the man as if her was insane, she walked over to him to get a better look at his face, as she did he tuned to her and smiled and waved his hand like an institute telling it’s band to rise its volume. A slight sound like shattered glass being picked up was now forming the door back into its original place. “I’m not sure that I want to know how you just did that but I am not one to go out in the freezing cold and allow myself to be killed or what ever it is that they want to do to me. I do not wish to throw myself in the hands of the monster that is after me. I would rather stay here and take my chances with you. That is if you weren’t the person that was after me. You aren’t….?” The girl backed away from the man as her smiled up at her and showed a set of yellowish teeth.
The man stood up from his chair and held out his stick to her, “I’m not the one you should be afraid of; it’s those who lurk within the trees. Besides if I was the one to kill you you’d be dead the moment I stepped though the door.” The man lowered the stick and placed it into his side pants. The girl turned to the window again as if to expect something to run across the blanketed yard.
“I see that you’re very …..Well how do I put this, you’re not quite what I would call a human who is easily amused.” The man walked closer to Angel as she stared into the trees deeper. Then just as she was sure there could be no way of anything out in the trees a black darkened shadow moved out in the direction of the house and came at full speed as if it were just another shadow of the night.
“What the hell is that?” Angel ran for the corner as the man looked out in the direction of the shadow and swore as he ran towards the door and locked it with his stick making a yellowy blue light from the tip.
A loud thud and crashing from outside hit the door as it scratched and tarred at the door. “We have to get you out of here. Now move! Get into the fire place.”
The man pushed his weight against the door even harder as her watched Angel running towards the fire that all at once turned to green flames. “What do I do?”
Angel looked back and forth from the flames and the man holding the door shout. “Just jump in and say, ‘The leekycoldrin.’ Can you do that please now?”
Angel jumped into the flames and repeated the words exactly as she was intruded. A cold yet warm tingling feeling rushed though Angels body as she was thrown out of the chimney and in the air. Within a few moments she was on the floor of a pub. Angel started to cough and slowly moved to the table a few feet away from her.
The pounding stopped as the shadowed figure smashed though the window and tumbled towards the far wall. The man held out his stick and yelled at the creator as a blue spark fly out of the tip. The creator yelped and fell still as the man stared at it with dreaded hate. The man than crossed his arms with disapproval and said with a grim tone which sent chills down the creators back.
“I thought I smelled a wild beast, I also thought that you were dead. How is it that you managed to survive all these years even when you were hit by the most powerful of spells?” The man smiled then allowed the creator back to its original state.
“This is none of your concern, now where is the girl? I mist know where she is. If you’ve taken her to some place where I wouldn’t think to look you’re sorely mistaken!” The animal leaped up onto the man and began to tare at him arms.
The girl finally stopped coughing and looked around her to see that she was surrounded by a room full of drunk men and a bar keeper who smiled politely to her and gestured for her to take a set. “Where am I?” The girl pulled a seat out for herself as she did a floating jug with a rather large glass poured a drink almost like apple juice and settled down next to Angel arm as she watched the jug float back over to another table filled with fruit and goodies. Angel took a sniff of the juice as it smelled more like honey and pears.
“Try it you’ll like it and don’t worry about it being poisoned, I’m not into killing kind costumers.” The keeper smiled and nodded as another man walked into the room and smiled back to the rest of the room. Angel took a deep and long drink of the sweet smelling juice. Angel set down the glass and saw that the man who had entered the room was now sitting one seat away from her.
“Can I help you?” Angel looked around the room to see if the man she seen in the house had some how showed up yet, but yet he wasn’t there.
“I only wish to keep you company until your party arrives.” The red haired man smiled wider and pushed an envelope towards her.
Angel looked at the envelope than at the red headed man as she did a blaze of green flame came though the fire place. “Well I’ve had better trips.” The man was covered with soot as he walked over to the table and nodded towards the bar tender.
“I see that your party has arrived my time is up and I have to find my family before they run into too much trouble. See you then Severous.” The red headed man left the table and walked into a storage room.
“I see that you’ve been taken care of. Did you enjoy that drink? It’s one of my many favorites.” Severous smiled dimly as he allowed Angel to push in her chair and walk closer to him.
“I did thanks. And where exactly are we?” Angel looked around the room as to notice it for the first time.
Severous just walked off and paid no mind to the surroundings. “We need to get you to the Greengards bank; it’ll have your savings and such into it. You’ll need all the money you can to buy your school supplies.”
Angel stopped where she stood and looked at the ground as if afraid to say something to upset him. “Well you see….I doesn’t really need any money. I’ve got that and school supplies. The only thing that I don’t have is a ticket to get on the train.” Angel slowly raised her head as she did see could feel his sees boring down onto her and the fury within him just seeping up and ready to burst at any moment. Angel saw in the corner of her eye that something was entering the pub and it was a massive group. The keeper rushed out piles of jugs as they filled to the rim and flew into the large hands of the cloaked members. “Come we have to get back to the school it’s quite late and you’re out of your robes.” Severous swished his cloak as they raced over to a cold and dank room in the corners of the room there where small mounds of cages.
The stick in which Severous was carrying glowed a golden fire as the bricked on the wall fall away and a whole street was filled with students running in and out of shops one student in particular was grinning from ear to ear as he saw the girl walking beside Severous. “Be wise and don’t go wondering off to any where. I mush fetch some new books for my classes.” Severous walked into a dimly lite store and a man came running to his side as he pulled him into the back of the store where there was not a lamp in sight. A boy about tow years older than Angel bumped into her and snickered as his group ran into a brightly coloured shop. “might want to watch out for him, he’s not one of the most friendly of guys into our school but you’ll get use to him once you get into school and have to hear him every…” The girl holding up Angel now suddenly backed away from her and her whole face became a dark and horror face. Angel looked around her and seen that many of the kids had stopped walking and were now pointing and whispering amongst their groups. “I think you might be in the wrong place, your not welcome here you ….”
The girl was cut short as a tall figure with an extremely too tall of a hat and unnatural thin of a body came over to them and picked up the girl with one hand as he did he began to yell, “Keep your grubby hands off the miss, she’s none of your concern!” The man then through the girl into a group of on lookers and looked deeply at Angel.
“Thanks I think.” Angel than walked over to the brightly lite shop and watched as a family of red headed boys ran around the shop giving out candy and charms to anyone they could. “Looks like fun doesn’t it?” The man nodded towards the boys as he tuned to walk off into another shop and tilted his large hat at her with a wide smile.
The snow had stopped and the wind died down as Angel waited outside the shop for Severous to reappear. “It’s getting colder by the second; you should get going to the station before the train leaves.” A red haired man like the one she’d seen in the pub was standing not three feet away from her as she smiled and held out her hand to him. “My name is Angel. It’s nice to meet you Mr. Wesley.” The man stared at her as he took hold of her hand and began to shack it hard. “Indeed. I see that you’ve found your way around the shops and have gotten yourself new robes. Quite a good thing that, you’ll be needing them for the years that will be up ahead.”
***
A cool breeze too cool for a winter like this to be real. The snow than covered the vision of her seeing anything in front of her as she felt the floor beneath her fold and take a new shape, one that was new yet familiar in the same way. “Angel? Angel. Are you alright? You were talking in your sleep again.” Draco cupped his hand onto Angels face as he felt her stone cold face and the warmth of his burned her. “I didn’t notice. I must have had a bad dream or something.” Angel wrapped her blankets around her tighter than needed but she couldn’t be sure why she was so cold even if the windows were locked tightly and the fire was a blaze. “I think you should see the nurses I mean you’re not at all your self.” Draco than poked at the fire with a stick that looked almost like a knife its handle shimmering in the dim light.

As fall turned to winter, a frosty breeze crept into the castle. Angel awoke in the early morning, the moon still hanging in the dark sky, a cold sweat falling on her face as she gasped for breath. As the crisp air filled her lungs, she watched the room around her filled with dark and mysterious shadows. They crept up her covers and swept across the window, erasing the moon's calming glow from the room.
Angel cast the covers off her legs and ran into the bathroom, slamming the door shut. She jerkily turned the taps on over the sink and splashed the cold water over her face. Angel looked darkly up at herself in the mirror as she brushed a towel over her face and pulled her robes on.
"Angel, is everything alright in there?" Malfoy anxiously placed a hand and his head against the washroom door, listening for her reply. A silence filled the room, the only sound coming from the chattering of teeth echoing out from the bathroom.
Draco quickly walked to Angel's bedside at the sound of the handle turning on the bathroom door. He watched her cross the room towards him, the air around her practically quivering from the chill eminating from her body. She didn't look up at him as she reached the bed and Draco frowned.
"Are you alright?" Draco asked uneasily, holding a hand out to her. Angel looked at him, her eyes unblinking and unfocused, before collapsing in the ground. "Angel!" Draco swooped down to grab her, feeling her body shaking uncontrollably under his touch. He tried to pull her up, but her convulsions made it hard to control her limbs and although she wasn't exactly heavy, he was finding it impossible to pull her on the bed.
Draco reached and grabbed the comforter from her bed and wrapped it tightly around her, pulling her against him. He could feel her slowly starting to warm up, but her lips were a dark shade of blue and a heavy fog escaped her mouth when she breathed, as if they were outdoors. "What the fuck," Draco muttered. "Angel, talk to me!"

As Angel woke, the morning's sun lit her room with a warm glow. A loud pounding at Angel's door forced her to hurriedly dress. She opened the door to see Draco standing against the doorway.
"'Bout time you got up," he drawled. "Now come on or we'll be late." Draco ran down the stairway, Angel running to keep up.
"I don't want to be late - not again. Are you sure we'll make it on time?" Angel ran alongside Draco as they neared the potion's class.
Draco stopped and looked towards Angel, then back at the doorway leading into the class. "We'll be fine, just as long as we get inside now. Come on." Draco pushed Angel into the classroom before casually following. He stopped dead in his tracks as he nearly ran into Angel, Aeden's arms wrapped around her as he smiled grimly.
"Hello, Angel, fancy seeing you here." Aeden smiled, then pushed Angel away from him as he looked in Draco's direction.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? She's not yours to do whatever you like with." Draco pulled Angel away from Aeden and held her close to him as he walked towards his table.
"Draco, let go of me; you're hurting me. Please! He didn't mean anything by it. Besides you're the one who pushed me into him." Angel pulled away from Draco and took a seat.
"Don't worry so much, chap, I won't dare to mess with your girlfriend." Aeden took his seat next to a blond haired girl who began to groom him.
As the rest of the class got to their seats, Professor Snape opened his book up and poured a jar of horse hair into his cauldron. "Open your books to page two hundred and thirty-seven. In today's lesson we will be learning how to create a storm. Now then, I want you all to follow the instrutions precisely, down to the last drop of snakes blood. Do you understand me?"
The class chorused, "Yes, sir."
Angel's eyes swept across the room. They swept to Aeden and then over to Ron, who looked directly at her with his tounge sticking out and his hands on either side of his face.
"Very well. I will give you fifteen minutes. Begin." Snape looked at the students as each one set out to gather their ingredients and pour them into their cauldrons.
Angel stared at her cauldron blankly, then gazed at the professor who raised his eyebrow. She stood up, walked slowly over to the cabinet and grabbed everything at once.
"This will do nicely," she thought to herself and she placed everything at her steaming couldron. "Oh, wait, I forgot my snail intestions." Angel ran over to the cabinet once again and searched the entire contents before giving up and realising someone must still have the jar.
"Looking for something?" Aeden dangled a dark brown coloured jar full of snails intestions.
Angel smiled widely as she stood up and looked at Aeden. "Thanks, I've been looking everywhere for it. I should have enough time left to add it to my ... Oh, God!" Angel looked over at her cauldron and saw that it was now bubbling away. As it did, a pitch black cloud formed and grew larger by the second.
"I really need those snails intestions," Angel pleaded, snatching at the jar. "Please, let me have them." Angel grabbed at the jar but Aeden pulled it out of her reach and pushed her away from him playfully.
"You'll have to come and get it first, Angel," Aeden laughed with a bit of a smirk crossing his face. He kept the jar far out of Angel's reach.
"Please, Aeden! Before..." Angel ran over to her table as the cloud grew darker and a flash of light could be seen though the giant mass.
"What seems to be the problem over here?" Snape strode across the room, his cloak billowing behind him like never before. He stopped a few paces short of entering the storm and looked scathingly at the students. Immediately, they turned to look accusingly at Angel. "Calling! What is the meaning of this? I said to make a storm not a god damn hurricane. You have deliberately disobeyed my instructions..."
CRACK!!! The room shook as a bright light hit Angel head on and knocked her on the floor. The class gathered around to stare at her blackened face and her chest, covered in blood. Snape looked furiously at the class before whipping out his wand. As he did, a dark light sparked out of his wand and grabbed the cloud, swallowing it up into nothing. Snape turned back to the class. "Draco, gather some students and bring Ms. Calling to the Hospital Wing. And be quick about it."
He nodded but was knocked aside by a stray bolt of lightning. Snape sighed and nodded to Crabbe and Goyle, "Take him up, would you?" They looked at him stupidly until he rolled his eyes. "To the Hospital Wing, you morons."
They grunted and heaved him between them, dragging him out of the dungeons. Pansy took a quick look at Snape before sticking her nose in the air and following.
"We'll take Angel up," Harry volunteered, looking Snape in the eye.
The professor scoffed, "You seriously believe I trust you enough to put a student's life in your hands besides those two meddlesome friends you trot around with?"
Harry felt his face flush red but bit back a retort. "Ron and I can carry her."
"Oh," Snape sarcastically put a hand to his heart. "My mistake. If Mister Weasley is to join you, then by all means." He sneered at them both and took a step closer to Harry. "If she comes to any harm on her way up there, you can bet you will be expelled before you can pack your bags. Mr Capis, join them and keep an eye on these two fools."
Harry pushed Ron and Aeden towards Angel as they carried her out of the classroom and towards the Hospital Wing.
"I swear," Ron huffed, re-adjusting Angel's legs in his hands. "This girl gets into more trouble then we do. Fred and George would be proud." Ron plopped Angel's legs down hard on the bed as Madame Pomfrey came running over to look at her.
"Ah, this must be the other one," Madame Pomfrey looked at them sternly as if it were their faults. "Well, what are you still standing there for? Off you go." The healer pushed the three boys out of the room and into the hallway.
"Well, at least one good thing came of this; Malfoy and his girlfriend aren't going to be able to eat lunch together this afternoon." Ron and Harry laughed but were silenced by Aeden who looked hard at them both.
"You two shouldn't be making jokes about Angel; she's a good girl. So what if she hangs out with a scumbag Draco Malfoy, she's not actually going out with him." Aeden looked away from them and walked slowly down the hall way towards the Great Hall.
"Wow, sounds like someone's been struck hard with cupid's arrow." Harry looked at Ron as he walked slowly away and towards the great hall.
Ron looked at Harry inquisitively, "What d'you mean, Harry?"
He shrugged, "I think Aeden likes Angel by the sounds of it. Funny, he doesn't seem the type to fall for crazy birds."
"I dunno, Harry," Ron said, stopping. "Maybe we were a little harsh on Angel earlier. She is, after all, kind of ... nice when she doesn't have a spider around to pounce and kill you at any second. Do you really think she's going out with Malfoy?"
Harry rolled his eyes and took his seat next to Hermione. "Even if she isn't, would you really want to go out with her? I mean, she's not exactly your type. Besides, I thought you and Hermione were getting together?" Harry smiled at Hermione. She leaned over awkwardly and leaned on Ron's shoulder while she drank a sip of her pumpkin juice.
Angel opened her eyes and looked around the room, feeling a hand brush her cheek.
He smiled at her slightly and hugged her. "And she awakes! You've been out for hours, Calling, the teachers were starting to worry. I was hoping my god-like presence would wake you. Obviously, it did." He smirked.
Angel smiled at Draco as a dark figure entered the room. He slowly walked towards them with a wide smile and his muscles were outlined in his casual attire as he moved closer.
"Who's that?" Angel looked at Draco with questioning eyes.
He exchanged glances and squinted his eyes to see better. "I have no idea." He called out, "Who are you and what do you want?" The man smiled, turning his face into the light. Immediately Draco's face went a ghostly pale as he stood up and pointed his wand.
"Put your wand down, Malfoy. I only want to talk to the girl - nothing more, for now." Aeden smiled, baring his yellow teeth stained with blood. As he moved closer to Angel, Draco blocked his way, his wand now stabbing the man in his chest.
"If you take another step, I'll kill you." Draco's wand seemed to radiate his anger, causing Aeden's shirt to prickle and disappear under the spot the wand touched him. "I know who you are and I have full rights to do everything in my power to protect myself. How'd you sneak your way in, anyways? I thought for sure you'd be deadjust trying to get in to the school."
Aeden stepped back slightly, his fingers tracing the hole in his shirt. "You really think you could use that wand on me with her here?" Aeden looked warmly at Angel, pushing passed Draco, and sat next to her with his hand pressed warmly against her face.
"Aeden, what are you doing? I doubt Shannon will worship you quite so fondly if she finds out what you're up to here." Angel pulled away lightly, looking into Aeden's eyes.
Draco regained his control and came up behind Aeden, his wand forcefully pushing into Aeden's neck. "I told you not to take another step. Now leave before I -" Draco fell to the floor as a bright blue light hit him in the back and covered his body with ice.
"I warned him, didn't I? How are things, Professor Snape?" Aeden lazily got up from his seat and turned to look at Snape as he walked quickly towards him.
"Mister Capis," Snape glared at the man. "You should be in bed with the other students. I'm very well aware that Mister Malfoy is also out of bed without further explanation considering his quick recovery this afternoon. However, that does not give you the right to prance around the school at night."
Snape looked Aeden up and down, noticing with distaste that he wasn't in his proper robes. He was adorned in a leather coat and pants with black fur coddling his body on the interior of the coat. "Could you also explain to me as to why are you not in your robes if not your night clothes?"
Aeden smirked, grabbing Angel out of the bed and tossing her unceremoniously across his shoulders. He pushed past Snape before he could react and ran out of the Hospital Wing towards the back doors. His feet hit the cobblestones hard as he raced across the yard and towards the Forbidden Forest.
"What are you doing, Aeden?" Angel looked down fearfully at the man as he climbed a tall oak tree, bumping her along to the point where she began to slip down his back.
"Just hold on. We're almost to the top." Aeden heaved himself over the top of the tree and freefell for a few seconds before landing heavily. He reached around and lighty placed Angel down. Angel looked under her feet and nearly screamed. In the distant moon's light she could make out the floor, covered in bodies of dead rabbits and the smell of blood wafted at her nose from the blood smeared over the walls.
Angel held a hand to her mouth, partly for the smell but mostly because of the horror that filled her. As she tried to hold it in, a small tear rolls down her cheek.
"Don't worry," Aeden growled, petting her hair. "I won't hurt you, Angel. This is only for your protection. Why don't you go lay down on that bed over there and I'll get you something to drink?"
Aeden smiled warmly and turned to a small cupboard entombed in the side of the tree that Angel hadn't first noticed because the bloodied walls camouflaged it. He opened the wooden latch, uncovering dozens of bottles filled with water and alcohol.
Angel walked slowly towards the bed, placing a hand out to steady herself as she sat and looked around the room. As Aeden walked over to the bed, he handed Angel a bottle of water and sat next to her, gulping down a large swig of rum. He looked deeply at Angel's face and watched her take a sip of water.
"Why did you do this?" Angel put the water bottle on the ground, turning to look in his dark eyes.
Aeden smiled and placed a hand on Angel's cheek, stroking his thumb gently across her smooth skin. He tossed his head back and finished the bottle, tossing it to the floor and causing Angel to jump. Aeden smiled and gently pushed Angel back on the bed, resting his body against hers. He could feel her breathing hard against his chest as her own pressed against his, rising and falling heavily. He leaned into her further and kissed her, his lips hungry for her taste.
Angel kissed him back, opening her mouth slightly to let his tongue enter her mouth. Groaning at the taste, Aeden moved slightly and placed his legs so that she was pinned down beneath him, pressing her harder in the bed. Aeden raised his head slightly, breaking the kiss and smirked at Angel. Angel looked at him with a questioning smile as his eyes turned pitch black and his futures began to distort, turning animalistic.
Angel raised her hands, wiggling beneath Aeden to cover her face, but Aeden batted them aside and grabbed hold of her neck. He traced his tongue along Angel's hot flesh, feeling her pulse beating rapidly, before dipping his head down and sinking his razor-sharp teeth into her.
She tried to scream but found she didn't have any control over her body. She felt a sharp burning as her blood was drained away from her neak and into the werewolf's mouth. Slowly, the pain started subsiding and all that was left was a numb feeling as Angel's skin grew cold and her body turned a pale white.
Aeden let go of Angel and stood, turning back into himself again. He raised a hand to his mouth and wiped the smears of blood still lingering at the corners. A scream escaped his mouth as he fell fast and hard to the ground.
Angel's eyes flew open and she let out a deathly scream that rang throughout though the forest and into the hall of the school. As Professor Snape flew out of the school and towards the forest, a figure came running towards him from the darkness.
"Professor! I-I-I think I might have killed her!" Aeden fell to the ground hard, groaning as his body shook and blood poured from his mouth.
"Get this man to the Hospital Wing at once," Snape commanded as Hagrid came bounding out of his hut. Snape continued on, not bothering to answer Hagrid's questions that followed him, his footsteps heavy as he frantically searched the trees.
Finally Snape came across a tree with a blood mark scratched down the side. He pointed his wand at it, his voice clealry stating, "Fuga securus!" A purple slight disappeared into the tree, as if the bark had swallowed it, and seconds later a bird the size of a large school bus burst from the top of the tree, a limp body in its clutches. Snape shifted his wand towards the school and the bird flew onwards, its gaze set upon the Hospital Wing.
Snape shook his wand and the bird called out, dipping around the side of the building into a second story window. Snape dove across the lawn and into the school, his breathing fast and heavy. He met the bird as it disintegrated, leaving the girl on his table in the potions room.
He tapped his wand on the girl's back, causing a blanket to appear and wrap snugly around her. "What a disgusting mess," he muttered as he began tapping his wand again and again. "You'll need at least fifteen stiches to get that cleaned up." A needle appeared on his fourth tap and began to work away at Angel's neck, diving in and out of her throat. "Drink this, it'll help dull the pain."
Angel opened her eyes slowly as Snape lifted a vial to her mouth, a rich foam spewing across her lips and across her tongue. She lifted a hand to her neak and felt the thread finish making its way through her skin. Angel looked up at Snape as he gently rubbed her shoulders.
"You'll need to take it easy now, Angel, you've been though a lot these past few hours and I wouldn't want anything else to happen to you."
Angel smiled as Snape looked reassuringly into her eyes and she lay back down on the table, wrapping the blanket around her.
"You can come in now, Draco," Snape called to the shadow waiting outside the door. "She's out cold. I want you to bring her back to her room for now. Keep an eye on her the next few days and don't let her leave. She'll need all the rest she can get." Snape helped Draco pick the girl up without disturbing her and watched him walk back towards the stairway.
As Draco placed Angel gently in her bed, he closed her window and curtains and layed down next to her. He lightly blew out her candle and curled up close to her, placing an arm protectively around her before kissing the nape of her neck. He felt her tremble under his kiss and pulled her tight - nothing would ever hurt her again.

As Draco lead Angel into the common room and towards her tower, he noticed that the entire Slytherin house was focused on Angel as she walked by the students as she followed him up the dark and cold stairway.
"Pay no attention to them. They won't be bothering you much while you're in your new home. Oh, by the way, Professor Snape thought it best that you have your own tower and your own room so that no one could bother you."
Angel smiled and tried her best to keep up with Malfoy as they walked up to an old door with a snake engraved under the words, "Beware of this room for it holds only suffering and misery to those who enter." Angel looked questioningly at Draco as he held out a key and a warm smile spread over his face.
"I don't mind that the students are looking at me. What's that writing about?"
Angel watched as Draco slowly pressed the key into the whole and the creaky door opened. "Don't worry about the writing on the door; it's only to ward off the other Slytherins and anything else that might want to enter without your permission. Also, the room has been cursed to ensure your safety. Or so I was told by Snape." Draco walked into the room and lit a lamp by the bed. As he did, the room began to radiate, becoming a colorful mass of welcoming warmth. It was lined with beatiful antiques, such as a Victorian sleigh bed, a late eighteen hundreds dresser, a small bathroom with everything a girl could ask for, plus a gran view of the school yard.
As Angel sat on the window ledge, she could see out past the school yard and into the thick fog beyond. "It's wonderful, Draco. Thank you for showing me this. Thanks for not being too upset about earlier this morning." Angel walked slowly back over to where Draco was leaning against the doorway.
"No problem at all, just mind that you don't ever let it happen again. Well, no time to lay about. We have to get you back to Professor Snape before he grows a temper." Draco walked out the doorway and made his way through the common room.
Angel walked in the potion's chamber and sat down with her books open and quill at the ready. Professor Snape looked up from his book and walked over to Angel's desk, "Well, I see that you've made yourself at home with the Slytherin house. I believe you owe me lines," he sneered. "Get to work." Snape walked back to his desk as Angel began to write away.
Angel's hand began to hurt and stiffen from writing non-stop from since she arrived, five hours ago. As she wrote, she would write harder each time, and each time she went harder on the paper with the ink it would burn her hand and leave an imprint of the last word.
"Well, I see that you've finished your lines. And, might I add, you did better than I thought you would. I hope that this little punishment will never have to repeat itself." Snape took the papers and ripped them in front of her, watching as they set themselves on fire, crumbling into ash. "Until the morning, you are dismissed. Now then, off you go, the feast may still be going on in the Great Hall. If not, then I suggest you visit Hagrid."
Angel wlaked down the corridor and into the Great Hall. As she did, she noticed it was still full of students eating and chatting about classes and such. As Angel made her way over to the Slytherin table, she was suddenly pulled from the side and found herself with the Gryffindors.
"This way, Angel, you're sitting with me." A young, yet strong, voice rang over the rest of the hall as Angel was settled into the bench next to Ron. Ron looked at her for a second before turning his head and moving closer to Hermione. A boy she didn't recognize caught her attention with a wide smile on her other side.
"Hello," she said casually. "I'm sorry, don't mean to be rude, but who are you and why did you pull me over here?" Angel smiled politely back at the boy to show that she was serious.
"I'm Aeden Casip," the boy said with the same glamourous smile, his eyes twinkling. "I'm also new to the school and thought you could use a second chance at joining the Gryffindor table. From what I hear, your first few days haven't been going very smoothly." He leaned closer and placed a warm hand on Angel's jawline.
"Well, to be honest, I would rather sit at my own house table. Besides, the Gryffidors wouldn't want me to sit at their table even if you paid them." Angel stood up and started to walk back to her table as Malfor cleared a spot for her and she took her seat.
Draco sneered across the hall at Aeden, noticing the boy looking back with violent eyes. As he stood his chest protruded from beneath his robes and Draco turned a ghostly shade of white.
"Don't turn your mind over about that girl, Aeden, when you can think about the entire beautiful population of women in our house. And," Ron added with a grimace, "None of them will attack you with their pet spiders." He eyed the thin, gorgeous girls at their table, his eyes glazing over in longing.
After dinner Angel walked down the corrifor towards the moving staircase leading to her dormatory. She hopped on the stairs and felt herself ascending. Angel jumped as she felt as light tap on her shoulder nad spun around to face Aeden. Her sudden movement in conjunction with the staircase caused her to lose her balance and Aeden held out a hand to brace her.
As he stood there, his eyes gazing at her, Angel noticed his appearance had changed dramtically and he no longer looked like a first year but a handsome man. Angel smiled politely and turned to leave towards her common room when her arm was suddenly pulled back towards Aeden.
"What are you doing?" Angel frowned, looking down at her arm in his grip. "I must insist that you let me go before I tell Professor McGonagall that one of her house members has been abusing me." Angel pulled her arm hard, trying to get out of the vice, but it was useless as he was much stronger than she was and he was now holding both her arms.
As he held her close to him, she could see his eyes were a pool of blackness, surrounded by a slight bubble of the brightest blue. "I can't let you go," he growled softly, a musty scent of meat cascading over her. "Not yet. I need to tell you something, Angel and I need to tell you now. If I don't, then you will be in grave danger." Aeden looked deep into Angel's eyes and whispered softly, "Angel, the Dark Lord has found you. And he will come. When he does, I hope that by God you gain some knowledge of who you are and what you are capable of."
Aeden sharply released Angel and raced back down the stairs.
Angel sat in silence as she looked in the deep darkness of the night. The clouds moved slowly away from the bright quarter moon, exposing it to the calm night's air. A deep knock on the door startled Angel. She fell to the floor, knocking out her candle.
"Angel? Is everything all right?" A limping Professor Moody slowly entered the room, relighting the knocked out candle. As he walked into the room and looked around, he found Angel curled in a ball of blankets on the floor, her wand pointed in his direction.
"Don't take another stp unless you want your head blown off!" Angel muffled voice rang through the room and down into the common room, where Draco was racing towards Angel's room.
"Calm down, girl. I'm not going to hurt you. It's just me, Professor Moody, I've come to give you your books. You'll need them in my class - the one you convienently missed today - since I'm sure you'll be there tomorrow." Moody walked over to the window and sat down just before Draco came rushing in, his wand out and pointed at the professor.
"What're you doing here and what've you done to her? Why is she cowering in her blankets?" Draco crouched down next to Angel and tapped her lightly on the head with his wand.
Angel jumped back into the wall as she yelled, "Expecto Patronum!"
Draco and Moody fell hard onto the ground as a blast of white light came shooting out of Angel's wand a ferce dragon cyrcled the room than disapered into her wand.
"What the bloody hell was that?" Draco sat up from the floor and looked darkly at Angel.
"Oh... Well I umm....Sorry I thought that you were...Never mind. Sorry guys." Angel put her wand onto the bed and walked over to Professor Moody so that she could help him up.
"Who the hell did you think we were?" Moody stepted away from Angel than ran back down the cold staircase.

Draco approached Angel casually from behind, causing her to jump at the sound of his voice. "Would you mind if I joined as your partner?" Malfoy smirked at the terrified look on the girl's face and held out his wand.
"M-M-Malfoy," she stammered, looking around the room. "Y-y-you want t-to be my partner? But, but w-why?" Angel looked fearfully at Draco's wand, trying to figure out what was happening.
"Relax," Malfoy drawled, trying not to express his boredom. "I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to see how good you are at magic." Angel continued to stare at him skeptically so he added, "I also know it'll bug the hell out of Granger." Malfoy smirked and looked in the direction of Hermione, who was still fuming as she faced Ron.
"But I'm a first year," Angel babbled. "And I'm not really that good at controlling my magic. I don't want to hurt you, Malfoy." Angel fiddled with her wand, her hand shaking.
"For Christ's sake, stop worrying so much; just think of me as another student like Weaselbee or Potter. Actually," he said, making a face, "don't." Malfoy grabbed her hand and placed it in front of his face. "Hex me if you can."
"Okay, but I did warn you." Angel held her wand firmly and waited for Professor Lupin to signal.
Lupin watched as the students gradually found partners and prepared themselves around the room. "Over there, Mister Longbottom," he called out to a dazzed looking boy in the middle of the room. "Miss Parkinson looks like she's missing a partner as well."
Neville's face flushed red as he quickly scurried over to Pansy, her arms crossed and refusing to look at her partner's face. Her eyes scanned the room and caught Draco standing with Angel, causing her to tremble in fury. Lupin pointed his wand at the desks and the students jumped as they suddenly vanished, making room.
"On my mark," Lupin called, looking at the faces of the students. "You are to try Stunning your partner. When you have successfully done so, stand still until the rest of the class has succeeded. I will then revive those who have been Stunned and you will reverse roles. Begin."
All the students, one after the other, began to cast their spells. Shots of red light bounced off the walls, some spells directly hitting thier target, causing the student to collapse on the ground.
Angel stood with her eyes closed, trying to block everything out, and concentrated on the spell. A puppet version of the Dark Lord wearing a white dress popped into her mind and she frowned.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Malfoy looked at Angel with questioning eyes, about to shake her. "Have you fallen asleep? Ugh, you're the one supposed to be Stunning me, stupid girl."
"Stupify!" Angel suddenly waved her wand towards Malfoy, catching him off guard.
The spell caught Draco's left shoulder, causing him to fly backwards on the ground. He coughed, trying to get oxygen back into his lungs, and felt something lacey flutter over his hand. "Ugh! What the hell did you do to me, Calling?"
Angel's hands flew to her mouth as she raced over to where Malfoy was laying. As soon as her eyes fell on him, she stopped dead in her tracks. A long, lacey white dress cascaded down Malfoy's body and his face had dark purple make-up all over. "Oh, Draco, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean ... I'm sorry."
Malfoy slowly sat up and looked down at himself, feeling something heavy on his eyelids. He reached up to wipe them and saw a purple dust on his fingers when he pulled away. "You filthy mudblood! You painted my face! And what the fuck am I wearing, Calling? What spell did you cast?"
Angel looked away and whispered, "What did you call me?"
"You heard me. You're nothing like what they say you are. You're insane! Now tell me what fucking spell you cast on me!" Malfoy stood up and took a firm hold of Angel.
"I, I just used Stupify ... I didn't mean for it to do any harm." Angel was almost in tears.
"That's enough Mister Malfoy. Go wash up and change back into your proper house robes." Professor Lupin stood near Angel as Malfoy scowled and let go of her and walked slowly out of the classroom.
"I'm sure I could have taken off the spell if he'd wanted me to." Angel looked up at Lupin, a tear rolling down her cheek.
"That's quite alright, I think you've done enough, Miss Calling," Lupin said calmly, lightly lowering her wand. "However, I think someone will want to discuss this incident with you to ensure it doesn't happen again. I assume you know your own way?"
"Yes, sir."
Angel walked slowly over to the side of the classroom where the books and other objects had flown when the desks vanished. She tapped lightly on the wooden cabinet and a hairy face popped up from the ledge of the window. Upon seeing her, the taranchula scurried over and began sniffing her with its front legs. Angel delicately brushed her hand along its backside and whispered, "I'll be right back, alright? Stay here and don't get in to any trouble."
The spider's head bobbed up and down, as if nodding, then turned to look at the students. Angel smiled before walking out of the classroom and towards Professor Snape's classroom.
As Angel walked into the room, Snape looked up from the book on his desk, his dark eyes falling on the girl. "What is it now? What trouble did you get yourself into this time?"
"I used the wrong spell on Malfoy and he ended up wearing purple makeup and a white dress." Angel stared at her feet. "It wasn't really my fault! I didn't think about what I was doing." She turned her head to the doorway, hearing someone walk by.
"You know that you'll have to go see the headmaster now, don't you?" Snape slammed the book closed on his desk and walked over to Angel. "I hope you haven't got anything you need to do today because you will be spending the rest of the afternoon in detention with me. Obviously you need to practice more before performing spells on other students and until I say so, you will only doing written assignments. Understood?"
Angel nodded slowly. "Yes, sir. Um, would it be alright if I quickly returned to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom? I've left Spike there and I'm sure he's probably scared half to death."
"Who or what is a Spike?" Snape looked darkly at Angel.
"He's my pet spider. I, er ... left him there because I thought you'd let me continue the class and tell me to come back when it's over. I hope it's not too late to grab him before someone finds him and -" Angel's hands flew to her mouth. "Oh, no! Ron and Hermione might ..."
"What?" Snape raised a questioning eyebrow. "Might kill him? I doubt that, Miss Calling. Now, go take him back to the Slytherin common room before someone alerts the headmaster. And be quick about it. Spiders are not acceptable pets here at Hogwarts."
Snape was about to return to his desk but Angel looked at him with questioning eyes, "Where's the common room?"
Snape sighed, distracted. "Down the hall and to your right on the second floor. If you get lost, ask the paintings for directions." Snape turned, plopped down on his chair, and waved her out of his class.
As Angel reached the Defence Against the Dark Arts class, she heard Ron yelling, "Get it off! Get this bloody thing off of me!"
Hermione had a book in her hand and was tring to swat at the spider with it but kept missing. "Ron, stay still!" she commanded. She swung the book again but missed. Infuriated, she tossed the book to the side and whipped out her wand. "OK, Ron, don't move."
Ron looked up to see a wand in his face, Hermione's features distorted in aggrivation. He whimpered and ducked as she opened her mouth to cast the spell.
"Petrificus -"
"Get away from my Spike!" Angel pushed Hermione's wand away and glared at her. "What did he ever do to you?" Angel turned to look at Ron as he danced around the classroom like a chimpanzee, yelling, "Get it off, get it off!"
"Stop, Ron!" she called to him. "He's not going to hurt you. He's just as afraid of you as you are of him." Angel put a hand out to grab Ron but he ran away and jumped under a desk, thinking the spider would leave him alone.
"And I suppose you'd know. He's trying to eat me, Angel! Look at those sharp teeth and those hungry little eyes. I don't want to be eaten by him! Get him off of me!" Ron pulled his hands over his eyes to cover the fact that he was almost in tears.
"Okay, Spike, come off Ron," she cooed. "I'm really sorry about this, Ron. I didn't mean for anyone to find him, let alone put him on you." Angel stretched her hand and let the spider climb up her arm and perch up on her shoulder.
"It didn't get picked up and placed onto him," Hermione spat. "It attacked him and tried to bite him. That thing is not safe! It shouldn't even be allowed in the school." Hermione helped Ron out from under the table and dusted him off.
"And I thought you were normal," Ron whimpered. "You're as bad as Hagrid, keeping a pet spider. Mental."
"He was just trying to get your attention, Ron. He probably thought you'd come after me and let him know that I was alright. He didn't mean to upset you. He was only looking out for me." Angel looked sadly at Ron in apology.
"Yeah, well, he freaked me out and - wait. Did you say he was your pet?" Ron pulled away from Hermione with a look of disgust and looked Angel square in the eyes.
"Yes, but he's really nice! He'd never hurt or harm anyone that I liked. I told him that you were my friend." Angel looked away from Ron and lightly pet her spider.
Ron shook his head in disbelief. "I guess you were wrong about that, then. I'm not your friend and I never will be. Neither is Harry." He looked over to the boy on the other side of Hermione. "And you're wrong about that thing too; it's not safe at all. It should be locked away, like Hermione said." Ron pushed passed Angel and walked out of the room, the other students following.
Angel looked up, feeling a hand on her shoulder, and saw Professor Lupin staring sadly at her. "I know it isn't easy trying to fit in, Angel, but Ron's right. Maybe it would be best to keep your spider in your dormitories and not let it roam around the castle unattended."
"What's the point?" she sighed. "Spike's the only friend I've got now anyways. Why should he have to be locked up?"
Lupin smiled. "Trust me. If you give the others some time, they'll come back around. They're just a bit," Lupin twirled his wand so that the desks reappeared. "Lost."
Angel slowly walked up the stairs towards her common room and tried her hardest not to think about Ron.
"Now, was it right or left on the second floor?" Angel stood on a platform between floors, looking at the moving staircases. "Oh, great. Now I'm really lost. Um, excuse me," she turned to a portrait of handsomely dressed wizard staring at himself in a mirror.
Malfoy laughed loudly as he watched Angel asking the paintings for directions. "They won't be of much help, mudblood," he drawled as he stopped next to her. "Especially that one. You'll be lucky if he doesn't start telling you about his best dressed wizarding awards."
"Thanks," she muttered, "but that still won't help me find the Slytherin common room." Angel looked at Malfoy, watching the corners of his mouth twitch up.
"Well, I could help you," he admitted. "Seeing as I'm on my way. But it'll - what on earth is that on your shoulder?" He made a disgusted face as his eyes caught the spider.
"Oh! Draco, this is Spike. Spike, this is Draco Malfoy, the boy who helped us get in out of the rain." Angel smiled at the spider, then at Malfoy. The spider slowly crawled down Angel's arm and onto her outstretched hand. As it looked at Draco, it made a small whistle noise in the tune of 'two bits and a cut'.
"What's the sound? Is it singing?" Draco took a step closer to look at it. As he did, the spider backed away and did a back flip, landing on Angel's shoulder.
"I think he likes you," Angel said happily. "He only makes a noise or sings when he likes something." She pat Spike on its back.
Draco nodded, turning his nose up. "Well, I should get you to the common room before someone comes looking for you." He slowly walked up the stairs and let Angel follow him towards the common room.

As a stormy grey morning broke through the late night, Angel awoke to find an enormous mug full of steaming hot cocoa by her bedside. Angel walked slowly out of the back room and into the kitchen, where she was greeted by Harry and Ron.
"Morning, had a good night's sleep I hope."
"We aren't here to discuss how we slept last night," Hermione said cooly. "We're here because we were invited for breakfast. I don't know what you're doing here, but I suggest you leave now if you don't want to be reported to the headmaster." Hermione pushed Angel through the open doorway, dripping in rain, before she could respond and quickly shut the door in the girl's stunned face.
Harry and Ron watched in shock as Hermione took a seat next to Hagrid and took a sip of her tea.
"Hermione, what's got into you lately?" Ron stared questioningly at Hermione. "You've just pushed a first year into a storm after she's barely gotten up. You could've at least let her grab her belongings."
"Actually, Ron," Hagrid interrupted. "Her belongings were taken to the Slytherin common room by a house elf named Dobby last night. She'll be stayin' there for a few nights." Hagrid poured eggs that looked like they had come from an ostrich onto each students' plate.
"I honestly don't care where she goes. It's her own fault she's outside in the freezing rain. It's not my job to look after students, especially her." Hermione dug a forkful of hashbrowns and eggs together and shoved them in her mouth. "If she had followed the rules and slept in the Gryffindor common room like the rest of us, she wouldn't be out there."
Angel stood outside the hut for a few moments more, barely realizing that she was shivering uncontrollably and soaked from head to foot. Malfoy came up behind her, holding a lit lamp and a large towel. Angel turned to him and gratefully grabbed the towel off him, wrapping it around herself. "Thanks. You didn't need to come to my aide but I'm glad that you did."
Malfoy smirked slightly as he rubbed the towel gently on her shoulder and lead her inside. "Well, wouldn't want anyone to think that a first year Slytherin didn't know when to get out of the rain. Can't have you making my house look bad, even if that old hat put you in Gryffindor. As long as you're sleeping in Slytherin, people are going to treat you like one, better learn to stick up for yourself." Malfoy released his grip on her and walked off, leaving Angel standing alone by Professor Snape's potion room.
Snape walked slowly out of the potion room and stared at Angel in her wet attire. "Well, as glas as I am that you made it to class on time, I suggest you dry off first next time. Now, are you coming in or are you going to stand out here all morning and wait for the sun to shine through this damp weather?" Snape pulled the towel away from Angel and tapped her head with his wand. Instantly she felt a warmth tingling through her as she was dried and Snape pulled her into the classroom.
"I didn't know it was time for class yet," Angel admitted. "I saw Harry and his friends over at Hagrid's and I thought it was too early to have class since they were just about to have breakfast." Angel took a seat near the front of the classroom and opened up her books with her pen at the ready.
"Yes, well Potter has proved multiple times that he has his own set of rules. I advise you to avoid him and his friends." Professor Snape walked slowly to the front of the class, taking a book and slamming it on his desk. Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle scurried into the classroom minutes later. As they took their seats, Harry and the rest of the Gryffindors begin to pour into the classroom, finding their seats.
"I'm glad you've decided to show up. I see you've all had a hearty breakfast - and a long one at that." Snape scowled. "Turn to page one hundred and sixty nine; we will be studying unicorn blood and its properties in potion making. We will see how it affects the mind when added to certain potent brews, while changing the mere color of others." Snape poured a glass of purple liquid into a couldron at the front of the room. Immediately a foul stench filled the air, causing several students to turn green and begin gagging.
The students began to murmur and Malfoy yelled out, "Ugh, god, what is that stench? Is that you Weasley? We have showers here, you know, this isn't your house."
Ron made a rude hand gesture back, "Sod off, Malfoy."
Professor Snape smiled maliciously at the students as he poured another vial full of hippogriff feathers in the couldron, along with a flask of bat fangs. The smoke from the couldron turned hazy and began to spew forth multiple colors. The students began to laugh as the gas poured over them, create a odd sensation. The only student who seemed immune to the gas's effects was Angel. Instead, she was weeping.
Professor McGonagall chose this moment to walk in the room, holding a cloth to her mouth and a scroll in her other hand, pushing her way through the haze. When she spoke, her voice was muffled but still had its usual commanding tone. "Professor, what is this commotion about? Why are your students acting like drunken dogs and for heaven's sake what have you put in that couldron that's making the entire school smell like burnt rat's tails?"
His smile fading, Professor Snape waved his wand over the couldron, causing the contents to disappear. The room began to clear, causing the students to settle down. "My apologies to the rest of the school. This was simply an experiment, Professor McGonagall. I was testing the students to see whether or not they did their homework on how to detect certain potion effects. Obviously, they did not."
Professor McGonagall nodded, lowering her cloth and looked sternly at the students. "I hope this will teach you a lesson and that next time you will all remember to do your homework. Needless to day, I'm very disappointed, especially in the Gryffindors." She turned and left, her shoes clicking down the hall.
As the students left the potion class, Ron bumped into Angel. "What a class, eh? Fred and George warned me about it but I didn't realize what was happening. Never heard about anyone not laughing before, though. Why were you crying while the rest of us acted mental?"
Angel smiled and held out a tattooed hand. A wolf's head attached to a lion's body was sprawled across , the tail curling around her wrist. "This mark allows me to withstand any potions and any spells that are cast or made."
Ron looked at her in awe. "That's bloody brilliant! Harry, Hermione!" he called to his friends already making their way down the hall. "You've got to see this wicked tattoo Angel's got, it's amazing!"
Harry ran back towards Ron as Hermione continued to walk. As Harry joined in Ron's exclamations of delight, she suddenly turned and yelled, "You're such idiots! She's just another first year with some stupid tattoo. Personally, I think it's disgusting to destroy your body like that, there are so many things that could go wrong."
Ron stuck out his tongue. "You're just jealous Hermione because we want to talk to another girl."
Hermione glared at Ron before quickly walking towards him. "Jealous? JEALOUS, RONALD? How could I possibly be jealous of her? If one more person insinuates that she is somehow better than me or that I am jealous of her, I will hex their mouth off of their body and into tonight's stew."
Ron and Harry looked to Angel and then at Hermione. "We'd better go, Ron," Harry muttered, "we don't want to be late for Defense Against the Dark Arts."
Harry and Ron walked off as Angel stared towards Hermione with apologetic eyes. "I'm sorry, Hermione, I didn't mean for them to get so attached to me. I didn't even want any of the guys to like me." Angel ran after Ron and Harry towards Defense Against the Dark Arts as Hermione stood fuming in the middle of the hallway.
Professor Lupin smiled as he saw Angel running into class. "Alright, now that everyone has arrived, I want you to get together and pick a partner." As Lupin finished his instructions, Hermione slipped into the classroom, hurrying into the chaos of everyone searching for a partner.
Malfoy caught her sneaking in and walked up behind her. "Don't worry about your two friends, mudblood, they don't have a chance with her. I'll make sure of that. It'll be nice to watch you all fail for once - to a first year."

As Professor Lupin stepped out of the compartment, he noticed the students were eagerly getting their things ready for the train to come to a stop. Lupin slowly opened the door to Harry's compartment and noticed Ron smiling at him as he walked in.
As he sat down, Lupin heard a sickening crack! that made him jump back up. He reached around and held up Ron's wand, now snapped in two. Ron's face dropped and he turned a sickly green color as he stared at the piece of wood. "Was that yours Mr Weasley?" Ron sadly nodded his head. Lupin sighed and dropped the wand into Ron's hands. "You might keep a better eye on your things. I suggest you owl Mr Olivander when we arrive and see if he can fit you with a new wand, this one is destroyed and you'll need one for your studies."
Ron nodded somberly as the train finally came to a stop and Lupin rushed out of the compartment before anyone could say another word.
Harry and his friends slowly walked into the dining room shaking off the rain from their robes. The top of their carriage had been blown off shortly after leaving Hogsmeade, leaving them exposed to the night's ill-tempered weather. Hermione had tried a drying charm, a weather charm and several other spells on the carriage before giving up in fury.
Several other students had already arrived and taken their seats, including one of Ron's brothers, who was trying to make his plate turn into a snake. Harry said hello and took a seat next to him as Professor McGonagall walked the first years into the dining room.
Ron nudged Harry, pointing in the direction of the first year from the train. "Look it's that girl Hermione told off! What house do you think she'll be in?"
Hermione shot him a reproachful look. "I for one hope she doesn't get sorted into Gryffindor. She doesn't seem to possess any of the traits of a Ravenclaw, either. Maybe Hufflepuff will take her, or Slytherin. After all," Hermione stared at the girl with such loathing that Ron and Harry exchanged glances, "She did go running to Malfoy."
"Come along now, all first years gather here in a nice circle. Good, now when I call your name I want you to come up and sit on the stool. I will place the Sorting Hat," she held up the rather ratty looking garment, "on your head and you will be sorted into your houses." McGonagall looked sternly at the group of fidgetting first years before pulling out a roll of parchment and calling the first name.
As the students were individually sorted, one stood back. By the end of the ceremony, Professor McGonagall still hadn't called her name and when she rolled up the parchment she didn't seem to notice the girl still standing there. The other students who had been sorted were animatedly talking with their new house mates, some of them whispering and pointing to the girl still awkwardly standing in the middle of the hall.
"Hey, look! That girl is still up there. Shouldn't she have been sorted out by now?" Ron smiled at the girl, trying to catch her eye as she stood by the stool and awaited Professor McGonagall's intructions. "Do you think McGonagall's forgot about her?"
Almost as if on cue, Professor McGonagall raised her hands for silence and the Great Hall stared as one towards her. "That will be enough. Now, let's all calm down, shall we? I know you must all be excited about your new houses and anxious to begin the feast. However, as you can all see, there is still the matter of finding this young girl her house." Professor McGonagall gestered for the girl to have a seat on the stool. "We find ourselves in a very peculiar situation and so Professor Snape has gratiously offered to continue the Sorting Ceremony."
As she sat down, Professor Snape calmly stood up and walk over to the girl's right side. "I do hope you're not planning on doing anything tricky," he growled down to her. "Otherwise, I'll have to ask you to leave the school."
He straightened up and stiffly placed the sorting hat on top of the girl's head. Immediately, a cool voice seemed to fill the girl's mind, as if swimming through her brain. "Hmm ... Ooooh! I see ... Now, where to put you ... Where ... I know! How about ... no? What do you mean? OH! You want to be with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, a very interesting decision but is it the right one? You know I can't just put you with people you like, oh, no. It doesn't work like that ... Hmmmm ... I don't know ... You're one of a kind, not like anything I've seen before, no ... Alright, we'll make it ... GRYFFINDOR!" The girl felt the pressure of the voice leave her head as the last word was screamed loud enough for the entire hall to hear.
Angel jumped down from the stool and raced to sit next to Ron. He grinned widely at her and nearly knocked into her as Hermione shoved him from the other side. Ron glared at her angrily but she simply returned the look before turning to the food as it magically appeared.
"I can't believe she was sorted in our house. There must be some sort of mistake," Hermione muttered angrily to herself, shooting the girl contemptuous glances. "I'm sure she must have bewitched that hat. There's no way she was sorted fairly." Hermione took a quick sip of her pumpkin juice.
"Er, Hermione, are you OK?" Harry asked cautiously.
"Or maybe it was Professor Snape," she continued, looking pleadingly at Harry. "You know how much he hates Gryffindor. I bet he got it to sort her here because he knew she has no magical talent and would make us lose house points."
Angel tapped her wand to one of the chicken wings, watching as it and the rest of the pile turned into a live chicken.
"Lay off, would you, Hermione, look! She just made those wings turn into a real chicken." Ron smiled widely and sat closer to Angel. "Maybe you're just jealous because you're worried she'll be better than you."
Ron quickly shut his mouth as Hermione stood up and rounded on him. "What? If that's what you think, Ronald, you're wrong! Just wait," she said, her voice now risen to a shrill cry. "When we lose the House Cup because of her stupidity, you'll be sorry." She quickly turned on the spot, gave Harry a dirty look and stormed out of the Great Hall.
"Bloody hell," Ron muttered, turning back to his conversation with Angel. "She's gone completely nutters."
At the end of dinner, Angel was the last to leave her table. As she walked out the doorway she noticed Malfoy out of the corner of her eye, quickly walking to catch up.
"You know you're going to get in big trouble for that little trick back there," he called. "Turning your dinner back into a chicken."
"I don't see why I should. I only wanted to let the animal live and not have to eat the poor thing. By the way, why aren't you with your group of Slytherins? Won't they be worried?" Angel looked at Malfoy with a small smile and walked slowly out of the dinning hall towards the stairs.
Malfoy continued to walk along side her. "I've already told them I'll meet them in the common room and since I know my way around, there's nothing for them to worry about. You on the other hand," he said with a smirk, "just got here. Since I was the one who stuck up for you on the train, it's only fair that I should show you to your room in case any other smart asses decide to pick on you." Malfoy stopped at a set of stairs that were moving to a different area.
Angel leaned against the wall and looked into Malfoy's grey eyes, "You won't have to, that's the good news. Professor Snape is allowing me to stay in his classroom for the night until he finds a proper place for me to sleep."
"Why the hell would he do that?" Malfoy asked suspiciously. "You're suppose to be sleeping in the Gryffindor tower like all the rest of the Pothead fanclub, not in Snape's Potions class." He placed a hand on Angel's forearm to stop her from leaving and Angel blushed under his cold touch.
"Mr Malfoy." Draco quickly released Angel's arm and took a step back at the sound of Professor Snape's voice. "Shouldn't you be on your way to your common room? I dare say I thought you were above picking on first years." He looked at Malfoy impatiently, holding a blue-green book in his hand.
"Yes, sir. I was just on my way, figured I should show this first year where her chambers were on my way but she said that it wasn't nessasary." Malfoy looked hard at Angel, then at Snape.
Snape pulled Angel away from Malfoy as if he could harm her at any moment. "That is correct, Mr Malfoy, although I applaud your sudden concern for the well being of younger students. However, she will not require your help in getting to her common room because she will not be staying with the rest of her house tonight. Now, if you will excuse us," Snape pushed Angel out of Malfoy's view and out into the yard.
"I thought I was staying in your Potion's class." Angel turned to face Snape.
He said nothing but continued to push her a long until they reached an alleyway out of sight. Here, he put down the lamp he had been carrying and pushed her up against the wall with a sudden intensity. "Listen very carefully. This is not the type of school you think it is. I know you can do magic and I know you want to have your little friends. However, you mustn't let anyone, under any circumstance, know who you are. Do you understand, Angel?"
The girl looked at Snape with a small smile and quickly nodded, "Yes, I understand."
Snape released his tight grip on her and placed a hand gently on her face, pressing his lips softly on hers. Angel smiled wider as she felt Snape's warm lips press onto hers. Just as she reached a hand up to pull him deeper into the kiss, Snape quickly pulled away and began to walk over to Hagrid's house. As Snape knocked on the door of Hagrid's hut, he shoved the small, blue-green book into Angel's hands.
The door opened slowly with a creak as a large head poked out. "Hello, there. Wha' can I do for yeh Professer Snape?" Hagrid stood with the door half closed, a mixture of smells pouring through the crack out into the night air.
"I need you to look after this student for the night. I don't want any questions, complaints or arguements, understood? You are to mention this to no one." Snape quickly turned and walked back up to the school, leaving Angel alone with the half-giant.
"I'm no good with being around large groups of people," Angel explained. "Professor Snape thought it best that I should stay here for the night while he finds me a better place to stay, but please don't feel that it's your job to take me in. I can sleep in the forest. I've been doing so for a while now, I think I could get use to this forrest pretty well." Angel looked away from Hagrid and out into the darkness beyond his hut.
"Yeh'll do no such thing! Come on now, in yeh get." Hagrid pushed Angel gently inside his house and allowed her to take a seat next to his big dog. "Don't mind Fang. Yeh'll get a good night's sleep if you stay on my bed. Don't worry 'bout me, I'll sleep here on the sofa." Hagrid showed the girl towards the massive bed in the back of the hut. "There yeh are."
"Hagrid, thanks for putting up with me." Angel smiled as the man chuckled and walked back over to where Fang was sitting, drool running down his face.

Hermione, Ron and Harry walked along the corridor, bumping into the other students rushing to get a seat. Their footsteps were muffled by the carpet as they slid open the nearest door and shuffled into their compartment. As they sat down, they noticed Professor Lupin sleeping on the right hand side, his face buried in his coat. Hermione smiled at Ron as she took her seat. "It feels great to be going back. I think this year is going to be much different."
Ron laughed and nudged Harry as he looked towards the compartment doors, "I think you might be right, Hermione. I might even get myself a bird, to, you know ..."
Ron's embarassment was averted as the compartment door slowly and quietly opened. A young girl wearing first year robes, her slender young face framed by short blonde hair stood in the doorway, looking around uncertainly. "Um, hello, you guys wouldn't by any chance mind if ..."
Hermione looked at the girl with a frown, unaware that Ron was staring open mouthed. "Sorry," she said, standing to show her the way out, "we're all full. I'm sure you can find another compartment with students your own age." She gently shoved the girl back into the hallway and shut the door.
"Hermione!" Ron shouted indignantly. "That wasn't like you at all. What's wrong with you?" He stood up and looked out the door to watch the girl hurry down the train and push through a group of Slytherins. "Watch, now she'll run into Malfoy and we'll have to deal with him."
"I think Hermione needs to remember how she felt as a first year." Harry laughed as Hermione crossed her arms huffily.
"I was perfectly capable of handling myself at that age without bothering older students, Harry." Hermione sniffed.
Harry continued to laugh and looked to where Ron was standing. "Don't worry, Ron, I'm sure the food trolley is on its way."
Hermione, despite her anger, burst into laughter. "Honestly, Harry! I think I've seen that girl before, though. She was the first one here and the last one to get onto the tain. I think she really might be lost."
"You worry too much, Hermione. She's just like the rest of the first years. Once she's sorted she'll be fine." Ron sat back down with a hard thump next to Harry, knocking Harry into the window.
"Thanks for that," Harry cried, pushing Ron off him.
"Sorry, mate," Ron apologized, shuffling over a bit.
"Well, if it isn't prissy Potter and his two filthy little friends." The three snapped their heads to the compartment door to find Draco Malfoy scowling down at them. He twisted his head around to sneer at Hermione, "Well done, mudblood. I heard you kicked a first year out of your little perfect compartment here. What, did she know something you didn't?"
The compartment's occupants flinched as the sharp slap of Hermione's hand across Malfoy's face echoed through. "How dare you! Of all people, you think you can come in here and tell me how to treat younger students? That's a laugh. All I did was point her in the direction of more appropriate friends. You, on the other hand, I'm sure, have been spending the entire train ride mocking and cursing everyone in sight."
Malfoy ignored this slight and continued to sneer. "You know what's funny, Granger? You think you can tell everyone else who to be around, but last time I checked, you've been ignoring the other mudbloods. Not good enough for you, either? And I suppose these two are just because Dumbledore favours them."
"That's quite enough, Mr Malfoy." Hermione jumped as Lupin stirred from beside her. "I suggest you get back to your own compartment and put on your school robes. We'll be arriving shortly and we don't need anyone walking in with a bloody nose." Professor Lupin stared pointedly at the bright pink patch on Draco's cheek. Malfoy scowled as he turned and stormed out of the compartment and down the corridor.
"Nice one, Professor. That should shut him up for a few hours," Ron laughed.
Harry pushed Ron towards the door with a smile. "Look, the food trolly's here."
"Perfect, I'm starving!" Ron hurried up to the woman, his hand searching in his pocket for the last of his change. "I'll have two boxes of chocolate frogs, a box of every flavored beans and ..." Ron quickly counted his change, "I think that's it."
The woman smiled as she found his order and took the coins. "Anything for the rest of you?" The others shook their heads and she nodded, rolling the trolley down the hall.
Ron sat down with his goodies, spilling some Bertie Bott's every flavored beans into Harry's lap, "Cheers, mate."
"Cheers, Ron," Harry said appreciatively, popping a red bean in his mouth.
As they ate through the goodies, Professor Lupin stood up and walked towards the door. "I'll see you three in a bit, there's something I have to attend to before the train stops. Don't forget to eat those chocolate frogs." He quickly slid the door closed behind him and walked though the corridor towards an almost empty compartment.
As he slowly opened the door, he smiled politely to the occupant. "Do you mind if I have a sit?"
The same first year who had tried finding a place in Lupin's compartment earlier looked up sadly and shrugged, "Sure. Shouldn't you be with Harry and his friends, though? You never know when that pale, nasty-looking boy will come back."
"Ah, yes, Mr Malfoy can be a tad aggressive," Lupin smiled, taking a seat. "However, I'm sure that Harry and his friends can manage by themselves. Now, I don't believe we've had proper introductions. I'm Professer Lupin. I taught Defense Against the Dark Arts several years ago and now I'm returning due to an overwhelming demand. Who might you be?" Lupin looked deeply into the shy girl's eyes.
The girl looked away from the professor's eyes, at the floor. "I'm Angel. It's my first year here at Hogwarts, though I feel as though I already know every student and every teacher." Angel looked up to smile politely back at Lupin before getting to her feet. "You should really get back now, we're almost there," she said as she began to collect her belongings from the rail above her seat.

Chapter 5: The kings men
Constance and Nick watched as the carage pulled up next to the road. The door to the carage opened as a tall, thin, muscular man walks out of the door.
"I think we'd better leave before he desides to talk. Besides he's not the kind of man you'd want to know." Constance tightens his grip around Rains waste.
"I agree this man is nothing but truble to us. We should get out of here and fast." Nick pulls Angel further away from the road.
"I don't see why you two have to be so mean about him I mean he seems harmless and quite frankly he looks like he could be a fire man or even a wersler. I don't see how he's such a threat to us." Rain placed a hand onto his face than looks over at where the man was standing.
The man had now walked over to Rain and was holding her hand in his as he softly kissed it and said, "My dear, I fear that these men are just simply trying to protect you." The man slowly walks away frm rain and smiles at Angel.
"What exactally is your name? Just so that we know later on whom to refer to if asked." Angel looks at the man as if he was a cold blooded killer out to get her.
"Oh sweet and young Angel. If you only knew what I knew about your father and his past. I'm just a man like all others that served your father. I pertected him and the two of you for many years without you nowing about it. I'm the most important person there is to know. I'm Sam, though I'm sure your more interested in what I do. Well it's quite simple, you see I'm a knight. Yes we still have knights. We have to in order to protect the royals." Sam looked Constance in the face as if discusted from just loking at him.

All day today all I could think about was well how do I finish my chapter when I can't even stay focused onto it. So instead I watched my new favorate chick show, sex and the city. I can't believe that I'm just not able to finish my chapter but instead I'm watching a show on you tube and wishing that I could be able to just get an idea for what to say next in my chapter. If everything were to just come so easaliy then I'd be happier. While I was watching the show I realised that deep down I also wished that I had the get life that those woman do in New York city, but instead I'm stuck in this life trying so hard to think up the next sentince I'm going to write for my story. If the world were diferent for me then I'd be a better wirter then I am now.
